Moore, who started working for the borough doing clerical work as a high school intern, stayed on through college and took a full time position as an administrative assistant after graduating in 2011.

She has a degree in criminal justice from Berekley,

“My original intention was to become a police officer, but I found my nook here,” Moore said. “I love what I’m doing.”

Moore became acting clerk in 2014 following a the departure of Acting Clerk Terence Wall, who served a joint role as borough clerk and borough administrator, taking the jobs only as temporary positions.

“I take a lot of pride in this and feel honored to have this position,” Moore said. “I look forward to serving the people of North Arlington everyday. I love being able to serve the residents and being the one who can answer their questions and get them what they need.”

In order to become borough clerk, Moore enrolled in five mandatory classes.

She then had to pass a two-part, daylong exam in Trenton that covered topics such as municipal budgetary aspects, land use laws and permits.

“It was a horrible exam,” she said, laughing. “It was an intense day.”

Moore said the surprising aspect of her job, and what she loves so much about it, is how well everyone works together.

“We all function well together,” she said. “It’s such a pleasure to come to work everyday.”
