RUTHERFORD, N.J. — A grand opening celebration was held in the west end of Rutherford on Friday, Oct. 16 for two businesses with hopes of bringing life back to the area.
Century 21/Eudan Realty and Dunkin Donuts opened at 310 Union Avenue, which once housed a liquor store and a Shop-Rite more than a half-decade ago.
“I’ve been in this area for over 25 years and it’s extremely exciting to see new businesses opening up here,” said Nancy Lastra, of Rutherford, a broker/manager at Century 21.
“By bringing a national brand to the area we hope we can also help bring traffic to all businesses in the area,” according to a statement from Dunkin Donuts to the Daily Voice. “We feel proud to bring excitement to an area that has waited so long.”
This location is the third Dunkin Donuts in Rutherford. Owners Anand Patel and Dipak Patel currently have been in Rutherford for more than 15 years at their Park Avenue site.
Century 21/Eudan Realty were located on Union Avenue but moved for more room and better visibility.
Cliffhanger Productions staged the celeberation.
Patrons listened to live music from The Best and had free food and beverages. Face painting was also offered for kids.
