Three Friends Deliver A Thrice-As-Nice Pledge At Ridgewood's Fresh Coat

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. – A conversation with friends led to a new business opportunity for Frank O'Brien.

O'Brien, a police officer for almost nine years, was thinking about his "next steps," when he and his wife, Valerie, started talking with folks in Texas who own a Fresh Coat franchise.

Longtime friend Keith Hartig, who has a background in customer service and sales, also joined in the discussion. After much thought, the three decided, with their backgrounds and know-how, buying into the franchise was a win-win. Valerie, after all, had years of office management experience so the three saw a perfect fit.

“Valerie and I -- and Keith and his wife – bought houses in Bergen County and realized how sub par the painting industry is in this area," said O'Brien. "It was nearly impossible for us to get a call back from a quality painter, let alone a decent quote.
