Annika CioffiCommunity Advisor
Annika spent her early years studying and performing dance in the US and England for over 20 years. She has a BA from Rutgers in Communications & English, and 20+ years combined work experience in Advertising, Marketing, Publishing and Office Administration. Her most relevant experience was working for 4 years as an event producer at Career Transition For Dancers, a NYC based non-profit organization where she worked together with the CTFD board and served on the artistic committee in order to present an annual, multi-faceted gala including performances from major dance companies and Broadway. She was part of the team that moved the event to City Center and worked on several aspects including performance, marketing, dinner, live and silent auctions, volunteer coordination; all of which raised the needed funds to serve CTFD’s mission – to assist professional dancers in their transition to other fields. In addition, she founded CTFD’s computer training program, taught several dancers beginning computers, and helped to grow the program to their west coast office. Currently, Annika produces and performs with U-Rock Live Band Karaoke, a NY/NJ based event performance group. Annika and her husband have lived in Rutherford over 14 years, have 2 children ages 13 and 10. In addition to working on the Save the Williams Center movement via facebook, Annika has served the last year on Rutherford’s Access for All committee and writes a well-trafficked blog about her daughter and their family’s experiences dealing with Autism at www.songsforlexi.com/apps/blog.
