Bergen County Zoo Hedgehog Coming To East Rutherford Library

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- A hedgehog will join children at the East Rutherford Library for a story and crafts on Tuesday, July 12.

There are 17 species of hedgehog, none native to the Americas. Unlike a porcupine, a hedgehog's quills are hollow  and don't easily detach.

A “Wild & Crafty Hedgehog Tale” takes place at 10:30 a.m. with the Bergen County Zoo. Children will listen to a story, meet a real hedgehog and make a craft. 

Children four and up are welcome to attend. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Participants must arrive five minutes early to claim their reserved spot or risk losing their spot to waitlisted individuals. Priority will be given to East Rutherford residents. 

Participants should register online by visiting eastrutherford.bccls.org or in person at the library with their library card.
