"This show is about talking to the children about saving the planet, reusing, and recycling," Muscle Man Mike — a.k.a. Mike Alfieri — told Daily Voice.

Alfieri will talk to the children about conserving water and electricity, reusing items, recycling cardboard and plastic, and other things they can do to help the planet.

There will also be hands on activities, magic, and Alfieri's puppet sidekick Alli Gator.

The Going Green show is one of several shows Alfieri — a veteran of the Air Force — who performs on a regular basis for children ages 2 to 9.

He likes working with children because at that age they are more impressionable, he said.

"They learn the most from somebody they look up to," Alfieri said. "I come in as super hero character and I love the fact that they love that."

"I hope I can give them a little insight and teach them a thing or two."

The show will take place at 3:30 at the Carlstadt Library. Admission is free.
