This program, which is designed to be statewide, promotes, and in some cases introduces maker culture, as well as the values associated with making, tinkering and STEM-based learning.
During this event, children will work in teams, tinker around and create a robot made of paper cups, a small motor, batteries, electrical tape and markers.
The end result is a DIY robot that draws as it wiggles around. Children ages 9 and up (or in fourth grade and up) are welcome.
Participants must arrive five minutes early to the session to claim their reserved spot or risk losing it to individuals. Priority will be given to East Rutherford residents.
Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Participants should register online by visiting eastrutherford.bccls.org or in person at the library with their library card on hand.
For any additional questions, contact Children’s Librarian Maria Russo at (201) 939-3930 or maria.russo@eastrutherford.bccls.org.
The program begins at 1 p.m.
The library is at 143 Boiling Springs Avenue, East Rutherford.
