CARLSTADT, N.J. -- A plaque honoring two Carldstadt men will be unveiled at the re-dedication of the town's Post Office on Thursday, July 7.

The plaque will honor Staff Sgt. Frank T. Carvill and Lance Cpl. Michael A. Schwarz and will be part of a special memorial area. The Post Office re-opened in May, two years after it was destroyed by fire.

“Our three main goals throughout the entire renovation process were to give the community a great place to conduct their postal business, provide our employees a positive work environment, and furnish a respectful memorial space for the plaque honoring Staff Sergeant Carvill and Lance Corporal Schwarz,” Postmaster Samuel Diaz said.

The post office, a branch of the Rutherford Post Office, will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m until noon on Saturdays.
