RUTHERFORD, N.J. – An array of offerings in January are available to adults and children at the Rutherford Public Library, 150 Park Ave.
By appointment, participants may take advantage of the library’s Tech Tutor services to provide personalized instruction on downloading free e-books, e-magazines, audio books, music and movies to personal devices. Librarians also can assist with research, setting up e-mail accounts and basic computer instruction.
The following adult programs are being offered (participants must register for all activities):
English Conversation Group begins Thursday, Jan. 21. It will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Mondays and 1-2:30 p.m. Thursdays.
Basic ESL Classe will be available at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Jan. 19.
The Knit One, Read Two knitting/book discussion group. First meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6, where “China Dolls” by Lisa See will be discussed. Bring needlework. Copies available at the circulation desk.
Monday Book Group will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11. “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe will be discussed. Copies available at the circulation desk.
Daytime Reading Group will be at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at 55 Kip Center. “Suite Francaise” by Irene Nemirovsky will be discussed. Copies available at the circulation desk.
The following are children’s programs are being offered (registration not required):
Wednesday drop-in story time is from 10:30-11 a.m. and 2-2:30 p.m. Jan. 6, 13, 20, and 27. Geared toward children up to age 2, but all pre-school children welcome.
Thursday drop-in story time is at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28,. All children from infants age 5 and their caregivers are welcome.
Music with Guitar Bob is from 11:15-11:45 a.m.. Jan. 8, 22 and 29 for pre-school children.
Children’s Friday Afternoon Matinee will be from 3:45-5:30 p.m. Jan. 29 for ages 4 and older. Bring a snack. An adult caregiver must be with any child younger than 7.
