Report: Passaic County Hospitals Need Safety Improvements, Bergen's Don't

The Leapfrog Group has released the Fall 2017 hospital grades, with nearly 50 percent of those in New Jersey earning an "A."

Some in Passaic County earned a "C" and could improve in preventing infections, the report says.

The survey measures nurse effectiveness, mistakes and if patients leave sicker than they arrive.

New Jersey is ranked 11th in the U.S., an improvement from April when it was 15th.

  • Englewood Hospital: A
  • Holy Name Medical Center: A
  • HUMC in Hackensack: A
  • The Valley Hospital: A
  • HUMC at Pascack Valley: B
  • St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center: C
  • St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital: C
  • St. Mary's General Hospital: C
