There were also participants from the Morris and Camden county Democratic Committees. The caucus has been headed up by Dr Sal Pizzurro and has been gaining more support from local and state leaders. It's purpose is to bring to light the many issues facing parents of children with disabilities, including funding and availability of assistance, and issues facing parents of children that are "aging out" of the process when they turn 18.
The Committee vowed to continue to fight for the rights of people with disabilities. "I was privileged and honored to have been asked to attend," Brizzi said.
"The passion these committee members have is motivating. Until you actually attend a meeting like this and learn the dilemma facing people with disabilities, you cannot appreciate or have an understanding of how serious this problem is. I am committed to help this group as much as possible."
