RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Board of Trustees and Staff of the Meadowlands Museum recently announced its newest acquisition -- a hand-drawn map (14 by 19 inches) of the town of Rutherford in 1867 done by former Rutherford resident James Hands in 1947.
Hands, born at 39 Donaldson in Rutherford and now retired in Mystic Conn., celebrated his 102nd birthday on Feb. 16.
This beautiful new addition is prominently displayed in the main lobby of the museum. Visit the museum on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The Meadowlands Museum is at 91 Crane Ave., Rutherford.
