Rutherford Completes Change To Single Stream Recycling Collection

RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Rutherford Department of Public works has completed the conversion to single stream recycling collection as of Dec. 1.

Rutherford residents will soon see new, blue recycling containers.

As a result, bottles, cans, plastics, paper, and cardboard may now be placed together in the same container and no longer need to be separated.

Automated recycling containers have been specified and are going out to competitive bid. The containers will similar to the trash containers with the exception that the color will be blue.

Recycling containers will be distributed upon arrival.
