Rutherford Department Of Public Works Transitions To Automated Recycling

RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Borough switched to single-stream recycling collection on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Bottles, cans, plastics, paper, and cardboard may now be placed together in the same container, without being separated.

Automated recycling containers have been specified, and are going out to competitive bid.

The containers will be similar to the trash containers, except the color will be blue.

They will be distributed in the various sections upon their arrival.
