RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The executive director of the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission has lost her job since the agency is being folded into the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, according to a story on northjersey.com.

Wayne Hasenbalg, the authority’s president and CEO, said Marcia Karrow’s $148,000-a-year job will be eliminated Oct. 16 and she currently is “using time she is entitled to.” Karrow could not be reached for comment, northjersey.com reported.

The authority’s takeover of the commission in February gave it oversight of the 30.4-square-mile Meadowlands District, which includes parts of 14 Bergen and Hudson County communities, the story said.

The authority is responsible for overseeing the Meadowlands Sports Complex, consisting of the IZOD Center, Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment and MetLife Stadium, home to the Giants and Jets football teams,. It also promotes ecotourism along the waterfront and oversees the Keegan Landfill in Kearny.
