RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Alexander Bergners, 88, of Rutherford, died Friday, Sept. 30.
He was born June 23, 1928, in Daugavpils, Latvia, to Janis and Ludmila (Polocanin) Bergners. He came to the United States in the 1950s and for more than 40 years lived in Rutherford.
He had retired from the New York City Transit system, where he worked as an electrical engineer. He is survived by his wife, Maria; son, Andre; and three grandchildren.
