RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Douglas Boyle of Rutherford, died Wednesday, Dec. 23. He was 76.
He was born in Liverpool, England to James & Eleanor Boyle. Boyle proudly served in the British Merchant Marines and he was employed with Ben Bensons Steak House in New York City before retiring in 1994.
He was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed the Washington Redskins, the Boston Celtics, the Yankees, the Devils and the Everton Football Club. He was also a member of the Post Stroke Support Group in Saddle Brook.
Boyle is predeceased by his wife Sylvia (nee Witter), his daughter Michele Boyle and siblings Dolly and James.
Boyle is survived by his daughter, Nicole Boyle of South Brunswick; his son David Boyle & wife Siovanna of Lyndhurst; his grandson James; his sister, Elsie Ellis; and brother, Edward Boyle.
Family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 26 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home in Rutherford.
Cremation will be private.
