Born in Jersey City, she'd lived in Rutherford since 1972. Kearney worked at St. Peter's College in Jersey City for 22 years before retiring in 1994.
She enjoyed cooking and shared many years with her husband, entertaining their family and friends. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles.
Kearney was predeceased by her husband, Donald Kearney; her parents, Joseph and Evelyn O’Rourke; and he sister, Joan Jones.
She is survived by her children, Kevin Kearney and his wife Deborah, Lynne Hrabovsky and her husband Michael, and David Kearney; her grandchildren, Lauren and Gregory; her sister, Eileen Gigante; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were scheduled from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the funeral home, and a 10 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Mary in Rutherford. Cremation will be private.
