Frank J. Trotter Jr., 95, East Rutherford Resident

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Frank J. Trotter Jr., of East Rutherford, died on Tuesday, Feb. 21. He was 95.

Trotter was a crossing guard in the Borough of East Rutherford from 2002-2008. Before that, he was a custodian at Rutherford High School for 17 years, retiring in 1987. He was originally a glass blower at East Rutherford Syringe for 27 years, retiring in 1963. 

He was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church. He coached East Rutherford Little League, and he was an avid bowler and longtime Brooklyn Dodgers Fan. 

Trotter is survived by his children, William Trotter and his partner Cindy Winand, and Gary Trotter and his wife Diane; granddaughter Emily Rose Trotter-Bodie and her husband David; great-grandchildren Luciano and Ella; and siblings John Trotter and Theresa Spina.

He was preceded by his wife, Carmela "Mela" (Farina) Trotter, and his brothers, Vincent, Joseph and Anthony Trotter.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., in Carlstadt. The funeral will depart from the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Saturday, for a 9:30 a.m. funeral mass in St. Joseph’s Church, in East Rutherford. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, in North Arlington.
