Germaine A. Carroll-Fernandez Of Carlstadt

CARLSTADT, N.J. -- Germaine A. Carroll-Fernandez, born and raised in Jersey City, passed away June 16, 2016. 

She was married in 1959 to Ronald Fernandez and lived mostly in Bayonne but also in Miramar and Spring Hill, Fla., as well as Lyndhurst and Carlstadt. 

As a stay-at-home mom, Carroll-Fernandez was a former member of the Sweet Adeline's women's singing group, a doll collector and avid dancer performing with The Step Sisters in Forida and Best Foot Forward Dance Troupe and Betty's Babes, both in New Jersey.

She is a former member of the Bridgemen Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps. She also was a former Cub Scout den mother and chaperone for the Kidets & Bridgemen Drum & Bugle Corps. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Ronald; son-in-law, Charles Weir; and sister, Lillian Gravina. 

She was the mother of Suzanne Weir, Thomas Fernandez, Christopher Fernandez and wife Mary and Melissa Riccardi and husband John; grandmother of Alyssa and husband Adam, C.J., Lexie and husband Ben, Nicholas, Andrew, Gabriela, Christian, Gianna; great-grandmother of Charlotte; and sister of Michele Ferraro and husband Anthony and Francine Milstead. She also is survived by her lifelong friend, Grace Erickson. 

The family requests that all visitors wear something pink since it was her favorite color.The funeral will depart at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt for a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass in St. Joseph's R.C. Church in East Rutherford. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. 

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
