RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- James "Jim" Tighe, 62, of Rutherford, died Monday, Oct. 31.
He was born Oct. 3, 1954, to Christopher and Anne (nee Polaski) Tighe in New York City.
He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford, where he and his wife Alice lived for many years. Together they had seven children. He loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating his former home on Sylvan Avenue, which he had received an award for.
Tighe was a diesel mechanic by trade for heavy duty trucking. He also was the head of maintenance for the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; children, Vivian, James Jr., John, Joni, Robert, Thomas and William; and grandchildren, Kayla, Valerie, Sydney, Sara and Tanner.
Tere will be a funeral at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Liturgy at the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Ave., Rutherford. Interment will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Park in Clifton. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
