RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Rutherford resident Joan Esther Robie (Couture) died Tuesday, May 10. She was 91.
Born in Winslow, Maine, Robie was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the U.S. Naval WAVES, Sisters of Sodality, the Lazarus Society and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary RC Church in Rutherford.
She is survived by children Joan Friel, Jane Merli, Gay Urquhart, John Robie, Mary Blair, Bill Robie; siblings, Horatio, Peter, Paula, Hilda and Claire; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Robie was predeceased by her husband, Frank Robie; and children, Tracy and Frank II Robie.
Interment will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Horse Meadow Cemetery, North Haverhill, N.H.
