EAST RUTHERFORD – Marie T. Basso, a lifelong resident of East Rutherford, died Wednesday, January 13. She was 89.
Basso was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, a member and former secretary of the Rosary Altar Society and a member of the Catholic War Veterans' Ladies' Auxiliary. For 25 years, she was a secretary for Record Plating in Carlstadt, retiring at the age of 70.
She is survived by her daughter Donna M. Sicilian and her husband Michael; her grandchild Jenna Marie Sicilian and Ariana Maria Sicilian. She is also survived by her niece Diane Montalto and nephews , Paul Sarlo, Thomas Sarlo, and Charles Sarlo.
She was predeceased by her brothers Anthony Sarlo, Gerard Sarlo; and dear sister-in-law of Provy Sarlo. She was also the wife of the late Michael Basso.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 120 Hoboken Road, East Rutherford.
