RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Martha Phillips, of Rutherford, died on Sunday, Feb. 5. She was 87.
Born in Pennsylvania, Phillips lived in Boca Raton, Florida, before moving to Rutherford two years ago. Before she retired, she was the owner of Tara Travel, in Massachusetts.
She is survived by her children, Laura Tzanavaris, Vincent Parmese and Margaret Parmese; grandchildren Nikolaos, Ariana, Michael, Norah and Jimmy; great-grandchildren Alex and Katerina; and siblings Louise Lindemann, Albert Phillips, Gabriel Phillips and George Michael Phillips.
Phillips was preceded by her son, Gabriel, of Massachusetts.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Rd., in Franklin Lakes. The funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, in Franklin Lakes. Cremation was private.
