RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Muriele Brophy, a Rutherford resident, died Monday Dec. 28. She was 93.
She was born to Martin and Mary Elizabeth Brophy in 1922 in Hoboken. She was a parishioner of the Church of St. Mary in Rutherford and supported a number of charities and organizations. During her career, Brophy was a secretary for Lipton Tea Co. in New Jersey before retiring.
She was predeceased by her seven siblings, Gertrude, Claire, Rita, Charles, Martin, Lucy, and Joan.
She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Thomas Brophy, Doreen Brophy Esposito, Lauren Brophy Esposito, Robert Brophy, Lynne Russomanno and William Staton.
The funeral was private.
