Regina 'Jean' C. Schick, 87, Of Carlstadt

CARLSTADT, N.J. -- Regina 'Jean' C. Schick, 87, of Carlstadt, died Sept. 20.

She was born July 24, 1929 at home to Matilda and Edward Diekhaus in Rutherford.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Gray's Furniture Company in Jersey City for 7 1/2 years then worked at Viking Penguin in East Rutherford for 5 1/2 years.

Most of her life was spent as a homemaker raising five children. She was a member of the Carlstadt American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 69, the Carlstadt VFW Auxiliary Post 3149, the Carlstadt Senior Friendship Club and a former member of the Carlstadt Mother's Club. For many years, she loved playing cards every Thursday afternoon.

She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur J. Schick.

She is survived by her children, Carol J. Jolliffe and her partner Bill Frisco, Arthur J. Schick Jr. and his wife Ann Marie, Robert A. Schick, Paul E. Schick and his wife Ann and Laura J. Drinkwater and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Keith and his wife Joyce, Scott, Robyn and her husband Tim, Robert, AJ, Elizabeth, Erin, Devin, Michael, Madison and Stephen; and sister, Barbara Ketterer.

There will be a funeral departing at 9 a.m Saturday from the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt for a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, East Rutherford. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
