He was born in Jersey City to the late Thoralf and Margaret Johansen. Johansen served in the U.S. Army and was a resident of Rutherford for 45 years. He owned and operated Johansen Book Bindery Company in Hoboken and North Bergen for many years.
Johansen is survived by his brother Walter and his wife Beverly, his niece Carol Kuntz and her husband Bill.
Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.
