$56,240 In Unpaid Tolls Gets Teaneck Driver Arrested At GWB

FORT LEE, N.J. -- A Teaneck motorist who'd rung up $56,240 in unpaid tolls was arrested by Port Authority police who stopped him for driving a sedan with no front license plate through a George Washington Bridge E-ZPass lane.

Officers pulled over 31-year-old Alesandel Rodriguez after the "Toll Unpaid" sign flashed as he drove his 2014 Toyota Camry through at about 10:30 a.m. Friday, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

Rodriguez showed them a temporary New York state tag inside the rear windshield that expired over a month ago, Pentangelo said.

Officers then found that he was responsible 888 toll violations, Pentangelo said.

Rodriguez was processed on theft charges and turned over to Teaneck police, who had an unspecified warrant for his arrest. The Camry was impounded, Pentangelo said.
