A construction worker spotted the male body in the river between Rutherford and Lake Avenues, close to the overpass, around 11:20 this morning, Bergen County Police Chief Brian Higgins told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. He called Lyndhurst police, who notified county authorities.

The body was removed by the Bergen County Police Department’s Water Search & Recovery Unit and taken to the county Medical Examiner’s Office, Higgins said.
