Carlstadt patrol officers who responded to the Econo Lodge Meadowlands found “a rock of crack cocaine in plain view on the bed” of one of two rooms associated with the couple and two other guests, Carlstadt Detective John Cleary said last night.

They immediately issued a bulletin received by their Little Ferry colleagues.

Rebecca Hejduk, 20 (above), of Holland, Ohio, was carrying crack and drug paraphernalia and was taken into custody after they were stopped, Little Ferry Detective Ronald Klein Jr. told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Also arrested was Robert Jones, 37 (inset), of Garfield, who rented the room with Hejduk where the crack was found, Cleary said.

Both were charged with drug possession in Carlstadt. Jones also was charged with providing false information to police and Heyduk with drug possession in Little Ferry.

Hejduk remained held on $20,000 bail and Jones on $8,500 bail in the Bergen County Jail this morning.
