The other driver is being charged with state motor vehicle violations, including speeding, in a race that reportedly reached speeds of 100 miles an hour, the sources said.

The driver — who hasn’t yet been identified — also is being charged with hindering apprehension, they said.

Arki (whose real last name was Jalali-Arki), 26, spent several years on West Newell Avenue in Rutherford before moving to Clifton. He unexpectedly left the Hillsdale force last July. His mom was graduated from North Bergen High School in 1971.
