RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The family of a man fatally shot by police during a Ridge Road car chase in 2014 that ended in Rutherford, is calling for a federal investigation into his death, northjersey.com reports.
The announcement at a Newark press conference follows Wednesday’s grand jury decision in Trenton not to bring criminal charges against the police officers who fatally shot Kashad Ashford, 23, according to northjersey.com .
The grand jury voted not to indict a Rutherford police officer, two Lyndhurst police officers, and a state trooper, who were involved in the shooting death on Sept. 16, 2014, according to Rutherford Daily Voice .
