India native Ravi A. Patel, 28, was arrested after officers spotted his 2004 truck idling at a green light at Central and Pavonia avenues near the Hudson County Courthouse at 1 a.m. yesterday, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“Traffic was building up behind it,” he said.

“The officers approached and saw the driver appeared to be asleep behind the wheel,” Pentangelo said. “They roused the driver, who was incoherent. His speech was slurred and he uttered that he had just left a bar.”

The officers turned off the vehicle’s ignition off, secured the truck and took Patel into custody, he said.

They charged him with DWI and reckless driving.
