Lodi police say man threatened neighbor with machete over parked car

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Lodi man was arrested after police said he threatened his neighbor with a machete last night in a dispute over a car parked in his driveway.

Jose Toro, 48, of Aida Court went into his home during the argument just before 6 p.m. and returned “swinging the machete, striking it against the house, while yelling at the victim as if he was looking to fight,” Lt. Robert Salerno said this morning.

The neighbor wasn’t struck, he said.

Toro was being held on $70,000 bail, charged with aggravated assault and two weapons possession counts.
