The footage shows the 20-something bandit opening a large window and sliding into the 2006 Prowler Fleetwood 34-foot motor home, parked and kept at Kellar's K-9 Academy on Market Street.
After several hours, he emerges from the trailer with a 32-inch Samsung TV, a DVD player and a Dish Network Satellite receiver.
The burglar dumps the stolen items into a garbage can that he then drags away.
Daily Voice shared the surveillance videos with Saddle Brook detectives. They posted on various social media sites, including the department's.
Before long, the tips came in, Police Chief Robert Kugler said Thursday.
Detective John Tritto charged Anthony Cinque with burglary and theft soon after.
As it turns out, Cinque had been arrested in Paterson on drug charges and was in the Passaic County Jail.
While there, he confessed to detectives from Fairview and North Bergen to burglaries in their towns.
Cinque in December was sentenced to five years probation in a court after he admitted four months earlier that he took tools and equipment from a transmission shop in Andover.
He earlier received drug court probation on an unrelated charge in Bergen County.
Saddle Brook police, with the assistance of the Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification, found and processed a cigarette the motor home burglar had been smoking, as well as a hat that was found at the scene, Kugler said.
But the images made the difference, he said.
"The power of the video is multiplied by the media," the chief said, "and nowadays Facebook, moves the info across the public spectrum.
"Many thanks to all those who gave us the tips that were pieced together and that eventually led us to the defendant."
