Port Authority police found Nurkhanov Bakhtiyor, 40, of Brooklyn slumped over the wheel of his truck, smelling of alcohol, after the 6:30 p.m. crash Wednesday on the westbound slip coming off the bridge, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

They also found two bottles of vodka in the cab, he said.

"He was roused and left the truck and was administered a field sobriety test that he failed," Pentangelo said.

Bakhityor was taken into custody and given the breath test.

The occupants of the sedan refused medical attention and the truck was impounded, Pentangelo said.

Bakhityor eventually was released to a responsible adult pending a hearing Monday in Fort Lee Municipal Court, he said.
