EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – A Paterson man wanted on charges of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in East Rutherford while he was doing drugs two months ago was tracked down and arrested Monday, authorities said.
East Rutherford police and prosecutor’s detectives received information on May 11 that the victim was “inappropriately touched” by David Brinez, who “ingested a controlled dangerous substance in the victim’s presence at or around the same time,” Grewal said Tuesday.
Following additional investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Brinez with sexual assault by sexual contact and two counts of child endangerment on May 18, the prosecutor said.
Authorities seized him on Monday in East Hanover after he'd spent nearly two months on the run.
Brinez, 41, who is single and unemployed, was brought to the Morris County Jail before being transferred to Bergen County custody for a first court appearance, Grewal said.
