YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Rutherford police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man who held up the Wells Fargo branch in the center of the business district just before noon today. “Somebody must know this guy,” Lt. The scruffy-looking bandit walked up to a teller at the Sylvan Street bank, said “This is a robbery” and left with an undetermined amount of cash, Feliciano said.

Although he didn’t show a weapon, he kept his hand in jacket pocket the entire time, the lieutenant said.

Witnesses last saw the robber headed toward the corner of Spring Dell Avenue, he said.

They described him as 35 to 40 years old, thin, olive-skinned, about 140 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt covered by a brownish Carhartt jacket, and a baseball cap with an unrecognizable emblem on the front.

Anyone with information about the robber is asked to call Rutherford police: 201.460.3000, or the FBI: 973-792-3000
