ORIGINAL STORY:

LEONIA, N.J. -- A Leonia dog was stolen after the sitter invited over a man she'd met on Tinder, said authorities who turned to the public for help.

The homeowner was out of state when the 18-year-old invited the man over Sunday night, Capt. Scott Tamagny said.

He arrived with a friend, the captain said.

"While the house sitter was distracted by one of the subjects, the other was alone in the house," he said.

After they left, she found Maggie, a 2-year-old Maltese, missing -- along with a laptop and a package from Amazon.
