Video: Rutherford woman, 18, escapes injury when car barrels through Rite-Aid front door

ONLY ON CLIFFVIEW PILOT (VIDEO): It happens in an instant: A car plows through the front entrance of a Rite Aid in Rutherford, narrowing missing an 18-year-old woman leaving the store.

In a store surveillance video supplied by Rutherford police, the Rutherford woman jumps out of the way as the 2009 Chevrolet Aveo — which jumped the curb with a 71-year-old woman, also from Rutherford, behind the wheel:

Neither was injured seriously in the crash, which occurred around 12:40 p.m. at the Park Avenue store.

The younger woman told police she would see her own doctor.

Police and firefighters removed the doors in order to extricate the car, which Rutherford Police Capt. Patrick Feliciano said stopped short at the cosmetics aisle.

Meanwhile, customers continued to use the side entrance.

That’s not all: For those who stick with the 29-second video, a curious phenomenon of our day occurs near the end.
