NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. --New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, along with Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, Assemblyman Steve Otis and New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson will be joined by Superintendent of Schools Brian Osborne Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at New Rochelle High School.
The delegation will learn about MBK New Rochelle, an historic effort in Westchester County to support boys and young men of color inspired by President Obama's My Brother's Keeper initiative.
There will be a formal conversation among the legislators, MBK stakeholders, students and district leaders led by MBK Youth Ambassadors and MBK New Rochelle Co-Chairs, New Rochelle High School Principal Reggie Richardson and New Rochelle City Councilman Jared Rice.
The elected officials will have the opportunity to discuss economic challenges and opportunities affecting boys and young men of color in New Rochelle.
They will also have a chance to give their input on the goals and action steps in an MBK New Rochelle Action Plan Report, submitted Oct. 26 to the White House, and distributed at a launch event at New Rochelle High school.
