All students can wear a costume. In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled.

No student should come to school dressed in a costume for the morning session of school. Students should bring their costumes in a bag clearly marked with their name and place them in their classroom or locker until lunchtime recess. Time will be provided for them to dress before the parade.

The school reminds parents of the following rules:

  • Avoid costumes that have weapons of any kind or that portray anything of a bloody, gory or otherwise negative nature.
  • Students may wear masks for the parade only, but they must be able to see clearly.
  • Avoid lengthy or free-flowing costumes that could be stepped on or cause a child to lose their footing.
  • No one is permitted to park on the playground.
  • No pets allowed.

All students will exit from the sixth-grade door. The grade four classes will be the first group to follow the band outside. Grade five will follow grade four. The students will walk down the alley toward Springfield Avenue then make a left turn toward Union Avenue. They will walk along Union Avenue, turning left at Belford Avenue. The students will then march into the playground and return into the building.

The students will walk on the upper sidewalk of Springfield, Union and Belford avenues close to the school building. Parents can view the parade from the street-level sidewalk.
