Welcome To The Big Leagues: Hasbrouck Heights Coach Calls Upon Pros

Baeira, a Fair Lawn High School graduate, again is partnering with Denver Broncos kicker Brandon McManus and music manager Tom Peterson's Anti-Bully Squad, whose mission is to create a permanent solution to bullying through education, awareness, and prevention.

From July 10 to 13, athletes and coaches will converge on Hasbrouck Heights’ Depken Field for warm-ups, skills relays, specific position training, and games, and they will hear from a special guest speaker.

"Our camp gets better every year. Not only will they learn about the game of football but they'll get to interact and listen to our guest NFL players," Baeira said.

"The advice and motivational speeches that these guys give are outstanding. Each one of them brings a different positive message that may relate to a different child.

"Our campers look forward to the NFL players each summer. The best part is watching the interaction they have with the kids.

"The NFL guests have no problem jumping in there to play with the kids during our two hand touch games. Our campers get to either catch from or throw to an NFL player."

Baeira has coached under two of the legendary coaches in Bergen County football, Don Bosco Prep legend Greg Toal, and his current boss, Hasbrouck Heights long-time head coach, Nick Delcalzo.

This year’s speakers include Miami Dolphins wide receiver Leonte Carroo, (Don Bosco/Rutgers); and ex-Colts defensive back David Caldwell (Montclair), former Eagles running back Kevin Monangai (Seton Hall Prep, Roseland) and Gian Paul Gonzalez, (Montclair State, North Haledon), plus other surprise guests.

The camp staff includes former Rutgers and Don Bosco quarterback Gary Nova, Don Bosco running back coach Ignacio Urbino, Wayne Valley Offensive coordinator Eddie Suri, Lakeland Regional Line Coach Matt Keyzer, and current Montclair State quarterback Darren Iurato (Hasbrouck Heights.)
