James Parrish, 70, Formerly Of Rutherford

RUHERFORD, N.J. -- James Parrish of Carteret and formerly of Rutherford, died Friday, Aug. 26. He was born in Jersey City to Raymond and Elsa (nee Dechert).

He was a member of the Youth Squad, a volunteer for Rutherford EMT Ambulance Squad, Rutherford Fire Co #3 and Assistant Fire Prevention Chief. He also enjoyed bowling at the Wallington Lanes and coaching for the Babe Ruth league. 

He was a member of the Teamsters. He was self employed. 

He is survived by his wife, Pauline (nee Rembisz); three children, Rosemarie Scillieri and husband Christopher, Barbara Vosbrink and husband Jeff and Jamie Parrish; grandchildren, Jessica, Melissa, Brittney and Kimberly; great-grandchild, Lorenzo; siblings, William Calame, Raymond, Richard, the late Robert and Patricia DeBiase; andmany nieces and nephews. 

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Ave., Rutherford. Cremation will be private. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
