Born in Hoboken, DeCesare was a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a retired manager with Western Union in New York City.
He was a member of Cascades Social and Athletic Club in Hoboken; sergeant at arms and former treasurer of Rutherford UNICO; and a parishioner of Rutherford's St. Mary Church.
DeCesare is survived by his wife Marie (Tamburro) DeCesare; children Geralyn Conrad and her husband Richard, Michele Restaino and her husband Richard, and Vincent DeCesare and his wife Colleen; grandchildren Bryan, Bobby, Jordan, Paige and Anna.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Edith Maglione and John DeCesare.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Macagna Diffily Onorato Funeral Home, 41 Ames Ave., in Rutherford. All with gather directly at the Church of St. Mary, 91 Home Ave., in Rutherford, for a 10:30 a.m. funeral mass on Friday.
