RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- A veteran emegency responder captured dramatic photos of a fast-moving, wind-swept house fire in Rutherford on Wednesday.

"I was in the area, heard the call and ran over," Thomas Bischoff told Daily Voice.

A Wood-Ridge firefighter more than three decades, Bischoff is a senior hazardous materials specialist who has worked for the Bergen County Hazardous Materials Response Unit for nearly 25 years.

He also is a Wood-Ridge building inspector.

The fire destroyed one Rutherford house and damaged the one next to it.

Police rescued a poodle-dauschund mix.

No injuries were reported.
