Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Trigger Flash Flood Watch In Rutherford

BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. – A line of heavy rain and potentially severe thunderstorms is expected to roll through Bergen County on Monday afternoon, triggering a flash flood watch from noon to 4 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms are expected to hit the area after 3 p.m. and into the evening. Some of the storms will pack heavy rain and damaging wind throughout the evening. Chance of rain is 80 percent with up to 2 inches of rain possible. 

Sun will return mid-week with highs in the mid-80s through Thursday with only a few pockets of rain moving through the area. 

Thunderstorms could return on Friday to close out the week.
